HIGHWAY TO HELL: OVERVIEW
Last Updated: April 29, 2025Written by Stephen Cummings
High volatility, we repeat high volatility/ Yes, Highway to Hell will be the first NoLimit City sot in a long time which does not have an ‘Insane’ volatility level. Despite lots of action on the majority of spins, any sort of larger wins are hard to come by here and even activating the Hell Spins bonus does not guarantee and sort of big wins.
This Highway to Hell slot review will provide you with all of the information you need so that you can decide whether or not you want to play Highway to Hell for real money.
To save you some time, we recommend playing two other NoLimit City slots, Tanked and Brute Force which are better value for money.
HIGHWAY TO HELL: FIRST IMPRESSIONS
For British players, the xBet feature is available as usual at the cost of 2.4x the base bet. Interestingly, a Bonus Hunt is also available where at the cost of 15 times the base bet, you increase your chances of triggering the bonus instantly. However, we tried the Bonus Hunt a few times and did not manage to trigger anything. We did however keep the xBet feature activate at all times whilst playing.
For the first 18 minutes of gameplay, we did not manage to trigger the bonus game, despite losing count on how many times we hit two scatter symbols without the third appearing, this was pretty frustrating. Considering base game wins are very rare (we hit one £18 win thanks to the xNudge feature) it was a rather frustrating time for us. Furthermore, when we did eventually trigger a total of 10 Hell Spins, we won less than £5 from them!
Eventually we did trigger more Hell Spins bonus games and we ended up playing almost unlimited Hell Spins thanks to the ability to buy an Extra Spin. We did this plenty of times as you can see in the video above. Overall, we lost around £50 during our 37 minute session and we are disappointed with this one to be honest.
HIGHWAY TO HELL FEATURES
As is par for the course with NoLimit City slot machines, Highway to Hell is full of modern slot features all of which we have outlined for you below.
EXPLODING SYMBOLS AND ENHANCER CELLS
This slot has six reels and four rows, with locked enhancer cells placed at the bottom of the middle four reels only. Symbols which make winning combinations will explode, allowing new symbols to fall in. For each win, an enhancer position unlocks, from left to right.
AVASPLIT EFFECT
Whenever winning symbols explode, some of the remaining symbols are randomly selected for the Avasplit effect which increases their symbol size by one.
WILDS AND XNUDGE WILDS
Both regular wild symbols and xNudge wilds can land on any of the reels. Xnudge wilds cannot nudge into the Enhance Cells. Each nudge will increase the xNudge multiplier by one.
DEMON SYMBOLS
When a Demon symbol lands on the reels, it removes a random number of symbols from the reel area (symbols larger than one cannot be removed). The Demon then transforms into a random regular paying symbol with a multiplier equal to the number of symbols it removed.
HELL SPINS

Landing either three or more scatter symbols or the Hellevator Booster in the main game will trigger eight Hell Spins. It is possible to buy Extra Spins at the end of Hell Spins.
XBET NOLIMIT BOOSTER
If you pay 2.4 times the base bet, you will be guaranteed a scatter symbol on reel one.

HIGHWAY TO HELL RTP (RETURN TO PLAYER) AND MAXIMUM PAYOUTS
Highway to Hell slot has an RTP of 96.03%, which is ever so slightly above average when compared with our other slot game reviews.
We can also reveal that Highway to Hell comes with a maximum potential payout of 20,066x your bet. The chances of the max win is 1 in 10.3 million.
STRATEGIES WHEN PLAYING HIGHWAY TO HELL FOR REAL MONEY
The SlotsHawk team utilised a minimum bet strategy but this did not work out too well for us. Yes, plenty of wins occur but they are usually for less than the bet amount. Unless you are very lucky, the larger payout will be saved for Hell Spins.
Our biggest wins occurred during Hell Spins when we paid for Extra Spins whilst the multiplier values of certain cells are high. We do not recommend betting high on this one, stick to low bets and just pray that you hit some Hell Spins bonuses.
EXTRA INFO
Highway to Hell slot from developers NoLimit City is played on a 4-4-4-4-4-4 grid with 1,296 paylines. The variance level is high (which is lower than the usual insane variance levels) and there are some new features here including the Demon symbol which can turn into a random multiplier symbol and change other symbols on the reels.
Important information which you should be aware of before you play Highway to Hell for real money includes an RTP of 96.03% and a max multiplier which is 20,066 times your wager. The minimum bet is 20p per spin and the maximum bet is £5 per spin due to recent UK law changes on online slot machines. The hit frequency is 27.74%, which is better than most Nolimit City slots and the free spins bonus game is triggered 1 in 198 spins on average. The maximum win has a 1 in 10.3 million probability. Highway to Hell had a release date of 22/04/2025 and is developed by NoLimit City.
THE SLOTSHAWK VERDICT

“Due to the lack of multipliers in the base game and the 50/50 aspect of Hell Spins, SlotsHawk feel let down by this one. We recommend other NoLimit City slots such as Tanked and Brute Force.”
