As the sequel to one of the most popular slots of all time, Starburst XXXtreme has a lot of expectations to live up to. Released in 2021, almost 10 years after the original Starburst slot, Starburst XXXtreme has seen a grand rework.
More features have been added, the RTP has been increased and the volatility has been changed from low/medium levels to extreme levels. However, the biggest change of them all is the payouts where the top prize has seen an increase from a measly 500x the bet to 200,000x the bet!
Indeed, a lot has changed, but despite this, NetEnt has managed to keep the spirit and feeling of the original game. STARBURST XXXTREME RTP AND FEATURES
The RTP of Starburst XXXtreme is 96.26% which we consider to be pretty good as the online slot average is around 96%. It is also a slight improvement over the original Starburst slot game which has an RTP of 96.09%. Another good thing is that the RTP is fixed which means that you will get the same RTP rate regardless of where you play.
As for features, NetEnt has been adding a few new ones. The multipliers are bigger, random wilds have been introduced and an XXXtreme Spins feature has been added.

THE STARBURST WILD SYMBOL AND RANDOM MULTIPLIERS
The Starburst Wild Symbol makes a comeback, but with some slight modifications and added benefits.
It substitutes for all other symbols in the game to help you create winning combinations, and it can land on reels 2, 3 and 4. Once it lands, it will expand to cover the whole reel. The reels will then respin with all Starburst Wilds locked in place.
The main change to the Starburst Wild Symbol is that random multipliers have been added. It is possible to get multipliers of 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x and 150x. If more than one multiplier appears, they will be combined and summed up together. It is possible to combine multipliers up to 450x.
RANDOM WILDS
Between 1 and 3 Starburst Wilds can randomly appear after a regular spin or respin. They come equipped with random multipliers too.
XXXTREME SPINS
The XXXtreme Spins feature can be activated by paying a fee of 10x or 95x the bet. Once activated, you are guaranteed to land 1 or 2 Starburst Wilds on every spin. The feature continues until you deactivate it or run out of money. This is how it works:
- Option 1 – Pay 10x your original stake per spin and you will be guaranteed to land 1 Starburst Wild.
