EYE OF MEDUSA: FIRST IMPRESSIONS
We found the cascading reels to be a little slow compared to some other slots, but overall the aesthetics of Eye of Medusa are very nice. The gameplay is pretty good too, albeit we would prefer it if the Gold Medusa symbols (more on those later) landed a little more often.
We did trigger the free spins game but unfortunately we did not hit any big wins. We have to concede that although there are some nice aspects in Eye of Medusa, we do think that other Hacksaw Gaming slot machines are more fun to play – Le King, for example. Nevertheless, we do still recommend watching our playthrough in the video above.
EYE OF MEDUSA FEATURES
We have outlined all of the slot features in Eye of Medusa for you below, and there is one we have never seen before.
SUPER CASCADES
Whenever a winning combination occurs, the winning symbols will explode to be replaced by new ones. This continues until no new wins occur.
MEDUSA SYMBOLS
If a win occurs with low paying symbols and there is a silver medusa on the reels, the medusa symbol stays whilst all other symbols are removed to be replaced by new symbols, giving the opportunity to form more wins.
If a win occurs with high-paying symbols and there is a Golden Medusa on the reels, these symbols will become petrified and drop to the bottom. At the end of the cascade, Petrified symbols will reveal a multiplier of up to 500x and then the Medusa symbol will give a further multiplier of up to 20x.
SNAKES AND STONES BONUS FEATURE
By landing three or four scatter symbols, you will activate the Snakes and Stones free spins feature with 10 or 12 free spins, respectively.
These free spins retain the mechanics of the base game, but you will have an increased chance of landing the Medusa symbol with higher multiplier values. Unfortunately, when we triggered free spins, we did not manage to land any Medusa symbols.
GORGON’S GOLD BONUS FEATURE
Landing five scatter symbols at the same time during the base game will activate the Gorgon’s Gold bonus with 12 free spins. The Medusa symbol will now activate a minimum multiplier that can increase when higher multipliers land.
Landing additional scatter symbols during the bonus will reward respins too.
