SlotsHawk Chats - Killer Sharks Cash Collect Exclusive

We put our questions to Four Leaf Gaming’s Andy Hollis in this exclusive chat about their upcoming slot game, Killer Sharks Action Collect.

Our full Killer Sharks Action Collect review is out now.

We are glad to welcome you to our SlotsHawk Chats once again. We are delighted to bring to you our second chat with the team from Four Leaf Gaming following on from the success of our talk with Alex Bown.

The purpose of this chat is to find out about their upcoming new slot game, Killer Sharks Action Collect which will be released on the 3rd December 2025.

This time, we are talking with the co-founder of Four Leaf Gaming, Andy Hollis.

SlotsHawk – Thanks for joining us, Andy. First of all, what are you perhaps hoping to offer players in Killer Sharks Action Collect which we haven’t seen in any of your previous slot games?

AndyKiller Sharks introduces our Action Collect mechanic which builds on the hugely popular Triple Collect mechanic. Having the center reel as the catalyst for all the action in the game allows us to do some really fun stuff. There are 3 Sharks feature on this reel only and when they land they don’t just collect cash in view but trigger their special features to create a super exciting base game. Something meaningful can happen on almost every spin. The focus is on sustained engagement and keeping players involved rather than waiting for long build-ups.

SlotsHawkWhat were your sources of inspiration for the slot regarding both the theme and gameplay?

Andy – The theme came from wanting a high-energy, high action feel. Something that fits the Action Collect mechanic naturally. Sharks made perfect sense. We are also looking at what’s popular and trending in the land-based casinos in the US and draw inspiration from these awesome productions.

SlotsHawk – What aspect of Killer Sharks are you most excited about and what feature do you think players will love the most?

Andy – The theme and creative direction play a big role in this game. It’s a clear shift from what we’ve done before. Expect plenty of blood and guts, but with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour running through it. Everyone had a lot of fun creating this one.

SlotsHawk We played the demo game and something seemed to happen on every spin, was that your intention to try to make a slot where something will occur during each spin?

Andy – Absolutely, that was a big focus when designing the game. We wanted to cut out dead spins wherever possible. Even when you don’t hit a win, something usually happens. For example, landing cash without a shark on the centre reel sends those unlucky swimmers to be eaten by one of the three sharks floating above the reels, causing them to grow in size and become more bloodied and menacing.

SlotsHawkHow was the development process behind Killer Sharks? It has a similar feel to Wild Buccaneers Triple Treasure, so was it just a matter of taking the core elements of that slot and changing it to fit the shark theme?

Andy – We started from the same initial model because it’s proven to be a solid hit with players. From there though we reworked the maths, reel behaviour, and overall flow for the game. The shark theme brought a different tone so we rebuilt the pacing around that. It still uses the Triple Collect mechanic, but it’s been enhanced into something far more dynamic and exciting.

SlotsHawkCan we expect to see this slot at UKGC licensed casinos when it is released in December?

Andy – Absolutely, as with all of our games they will be certified for the majority of regulated markets.

SlotsHawkWill the RTP be adjustable?

Andy – Relax and their operators request we create games with a few different RTPs so Killer Sharks will be no exception. We make a few variations available and allow the operators to pick the one that suits them and their players best.

SlotsHawkIs there anything that you tried to fit into Killer Sharks but for whatever reason were unable to?

Andy – There’s always an endless list of ideas we want to pack into every production. The challenge is deciding what makes the final cut within the time and scope we have. With Killer Sharks, we tested a few extra mini features linked to the sharks’ behaviour but they ended up slowing the game’s rhythm. For this one we decided to keep the experience snappy. Some of those ideas will certainly resurface in future releases.

SlotsHawkOut of all your slots at Four Leaf Gaming, which game has had the biggest impact and where do you expect Killer Sharks to rank in terms of your top slot games?

AndyWild Buccaneers Triple Treasure had the biggest impact so far with players sticking round for more spins than our previous titles. All of the data and analysis suggests Killer Sharks will exceed this one. It has the strongest math and engagement profile we’ve built yet, so it could easily become the top game in our portfolio when it launches 3rd December.
